We are looking for an experienced and inspirational academic, able to take responsibility for leading on the development and maintenance of practice learning opportunities for the professional courses across the School. As a member of the School Senior Team, you will have oversight of all aspects of practice learning and will work closely with education leads across a range of healthcare organisations and with our local Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) as appropriate. The role is key to ensuring consistency of practice assessment processes across all courses. You will work closely with practice assessors and supervisors as well as students to ensure transparency in the assessment process. You will be responsible for monitoring practice environments, managing new and ongoing practice placement audits, ensuring appropriate link lecturer cover and preparing information for Professional, Regulatory and Statutory Body reviews E.g. Nursing and Midwifery Council.
You’ll be joining one of the University’s largest faculties, offering a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and vocationally orientated professional health and social sciences courses for home and overseas students.
Our areas of study within the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Education cover both pre-professional registration and post-qualifying education, and we offer apprenticeships in NMC-approved pre-professional and post-qualifying Midwifery and Nursing courses in the fields of Adult, Child and Mental Health as well as Nursing Associates and an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. We also provide a variety of courses for qualified healthcare practitioners plus courses in medical and dental education. We set the bar on employability, with 100% of our graduates going into employment with healthcare providers.
