Technology Enhanced Learning Manager: Healthcare
Job information
The School of Healthcare Practice has recently expanded and upgraded its simulation and skills suites and is now introducing an e portfolio to facilitate practice (placement) documentation and assessment. If appointed to this new post, you would lead on the support of technology-enhanced learning in these areas and line manage the existing technician.
The need to work routinely with academic staff, students and external professionals means that effective communication and training skills are as important as IT technical skills, though these are also an essential requirement. It is desirable that you are familiar with the University's existing simulation software (CAE Intuity) and our selected e-portfolio software (Pebblepad) and that you have worked in similar fields of activity before. However, we expect that anyone with good all round IT skills will be able to develop the technical knowledge needed.
Knowledge of the use of technology to support learning is essential and much of your time will focus on this, but the post holder will, in addition, be in general charge of the operational management of the three simulation and skills suites. Students and professionals come to the suites to practice and be assessed on clinical skills meaning good all round organisation and administrative skills are essential. It also makes for an interesting, varied and hands-on environment within which to work, with the added benefit that you are playing a key role in the education of our future healthcare professionals.
Interviews will be held on 22 March 2018
