The School of Arts and Creative Industries at the University of Bedfordshire is looking to appoint a full time Senior Lecturer in Film Production. We are looking for a film maker with experience in practical filmmaking skills and underpinning theory, as well as in course design in the areas of fiction or non fiction filmmaking, film production, and emerging technologies. Ideally the candidate would also have industry experience and links.
The candidate will lead the BA Hons Film Production course and supervise a team of technical support and visiting lecturers. The candidate will shape the update of our course in view of the changes currently taking place in the industry. The candidate might also have some involvement in our postgraduate film provision.
The School of Arts and Creative Industries offers a wide range of courses in three cluster areas: media and communications, art and design, and performing arts. We operate across three campuses. We have excellent facilities and have currently invested in new filming equipment. An essential feature of the School mission is to encourage and foster cross-course collaboration. We also work with several international partners.
Employability and graduate outcomes are key and the candidate will be expected to build on our network of contacts and look for further opportunities in the growing creative industries in Beds and Herts, to the benefit of our student body.
