Lecturer in Law (Maternity Cover - 2 posts)
Job information
The University of Bedfordshire Business School is at the forefront of expanding opportunity and access in higher education. With a strong focus on the student experience, we are committed to excellent, inclusive teaching that prepares our students for professional employment and inspires them to achieve their ambitions. We deliver across a range of Business-related
subject areas and are currently expanding provision through new partnerships and a developing portfolio of higher and degree apprenticeships. Our teaching, research and civic engagement make a real impact across business, public services and our community, for example through our innovative Refugee Legal Assistance Programme.
Following significant investment by the University in the learning environment and the student experience, we are seeking to make further appointments to enhance our portfolio in business, management and law education and to help drive our ambitious programme of strategic change. We are seeking two Lecturers in Law to provide Maternity cover for this highly successful and growing area of our business.
Within the Department of Law and Finance, as a Lecturer you will contribute to our growing undergraduate and postgraduate provision in law that forms part of a wider portfolio that includes LLB Honours Law, LLB Honours Law with Criminology/Psychology and a range of LLMs in International Law. The University's close proximity to London City means that we are well placed to work in close collaboration with the legal community, providing rich opportunities for students to gain placements and internships experience as well as graduate employment opportunities on completion of their studies.
We welcome applications from individuals with experience of teaching in one or more of the seven foundation law subjects i.e. EU Law, Land Law, Equity and Trusts and Contract and Tort Law. Experience of working with relevant Professional Regulatory and Statutory Bodies (PSRBs) would be an advantage, as would experience of curriculum design and development, engagement with external partners and delivering HE provision across a distributed campus.
With a PhD or with equivalent experience in an appropriate subject area, you will be an excellent communicator, will enjoy working as part of a team and will be committed to your own personal development within your subject field.
Interviews will be held 14 March 2018
