The School of Sport Science & Physical Activity (SSPA) is located within the Faculty of Education and Sport on the Bedford Campus and has an unbroken tradition in Physical Education and Sport provision dating back to 1903. Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Sport & Physical Education.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a
dynamic department that delivers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, has a thriving postgraduate research community and works closely with the Institute of Sport and Physical Activity Research.
We are seeking to appoint an individual with particular interests in Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in physical education and an interest in improving pedagogy. Experience across a range of pedagogical models such as Sport Education, Teaching Games for Understanding and Cooperative Learning would be beneficial but not essential. Applicants should have demonstrable sector experience, where possible hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area and/or an appropriate level of teaching experience.
In addition, applicants should demonstrate engagement with schools and partners, excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
This position would suit senior staff/heads of department with experience in teaching physical education to examination standard.
Interviews will be held on week commencing 4 September 2017.
