The activity of the Department of Computer Science and Technology is focused in three key areas, namely Computer Science, Creative Technology and Electronic Engineering. It enjoys a growing international reputation underpinned by its significant research. The Department research activities in Computer Science and Informatics has been rated in the top 30 UK Universities by research strength in the new Research Excellence Framework 2014 and attracts external research funding totalling in excess of GBP 1 million every year through its strong links with local, national and international industry.
Following this growth, the Department is seeking candidates with the interest, motivation and experience for the role of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to contribute to the development of innovative programmes of teaching, research and consultancy in the area of Data Science. The successful candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and will have very good inter-personal skills, highly developed communication and organisational skills and a capability to motivate students. The ability to conduct and supervise research and contribute towards appropriate external income initiatives is essential at the SL level.
