Frontline is a new, high quality, two year programme aimed at attracting high-potential graduates into child and family social work.
We are looking for a Principal Lecturer in Systemic Practice to lead on the development of the systemic elements of the curriculum. We are looking for creative systemic thinkers who can teach complex systemic ideas within a children and families social work context.
The Principal Lecturer on the Frontline programme will play an integral role in helping transform the lives of vulnerable children by recruiting and developing outstanding social workers.
The Frontline programme, that qualifies social workers over 13 months, comprises an intensive Summer Institute, two years in a local authority frontline social work service. Participants, more than 100 each year, are placed in units of four in local authorities and are led by Consultant Social Workers (CSWs) in child protection services. They then study for a Masters qualification with systemic ideas being at the forefront of the curriculum.
We are looking for a Principal Lecturer in Systemic Practice to work with a dedicated team of staff delivering the Frontline programme. You will develop the curriculum for both the first and second years of the Programme and support learning while students are in practice. This will involve large and small group teaching both at the 5 week long Summer School and at Recall days in the South East, North East and North West.
A willingness to travel and be away from home for periods is therefore an essential requirement.
This is an opportunity to be centrally involved in an exciting new programme aimed at delivering outstanding social workers. It also provides the chance to be involved in current and future programmes of research in the field of child and family social work. You will be supported to develop your own area of research in the context of a Centre undertaking a wide range of current research projects.
Interviews to be on Wednesday 4th November 2015.
