The University of Bedfordshire is seeking applications for a security sysadmin to work in the Systems Infrastructure team.
You will work in collaboration with fellow technical specialists as a sysadmin specialised in information security management. The systems team is a small and friendly group of technical administrators.
You will be involved in Linux systems administration, configuration and operation of the University SIEM and other infrastructure monitoring and security products. Experience in Windows server platforms is also advantageous.
You will act as a key resource and champion for the technical elements of security best practice and also in the user-facing elements, including security awareness and training; you will also act as a key contributor to the overall security management and security policy development, including the intention to work towards ISO 27001 compliance.
The successful candidate will be technically excellent, thorough, clear thinking, methodical, well-organised, highly professional, calm under pressure, considerate, supportive and responsive to the needs of the user community. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate.
