We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Midwifery academic team who are highly motivated and committed to delivering contemporary professional education in partnership with students and our clinical colleagues. You will be required to support the delivery and enhancement of our pre and post-registration midwifery courses and contribute to ongoing development of the School of Nursing and Health Education. We are seeking candidates with a breadth of experience in Midwifery who will to help drive research, innovation and teaching excellence in the School. Additonally this post provides excellent opportunities for collaboration and inter-professional learning and working.
About you
You will have current knowledge and experience of contemporary midwifery practice and education. Knowledge of relevant policy and professional standards, as well as theories and concepts that underpin midwifery practice and education. You must be registered as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and either hold or be prepared to study a recognised teaching qualification.
You will work collaboratively with local practice partners who support students with practice learning, including apprenticeships. The role involves working with colleagues across the University to deliver our recently approved midwifery courses within a friendly and supportive environment.
The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences strives to be excellent in teaching, reseach and innovation and is one of the largest faculties within the University, offering a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and vocationally orientated professional programmes for home and overseas students. The School of Nursing and Health Education covers both pre-professional registration and post-qualifying education, and we offer NMC-approved midwifery and nursing courses in the fields of Adult, Child and Mental Health as well as Nursing Associates and a Foundation Degree. We also provide a variety of courses for qualified healthcare practitioners plus courses in medical and dental education. We set the bar on employability, with 100% of our graduates going into employment with healthcare providers.
