Based within the School of Applied Social Studies, Social Work is a key discipline within a portfolio of professional qualifying and post-qualifying courses. We offer high quality education and training within a context of research excellence. The recent Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014) identified more than three-quarters of the School's research in child and family welfare, crime, young people and social exclusion, and law and social policy, as world leading placing us in the top quartile for social work and social policy research. Student satisfaction is also high with the latest National Student Survey satisfaction rates placing Social Work at the University of Bedfordshire third in the country.
Following the internal promotion of a team member we are now seeking a colleague with Adult Social Work experience to complement our established social work team. The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of our overall qualifying provision and will ideally be HCPC registered. The post holder will also be supported to make contributions to the Department's research and scholarly ambitions. Opportunities may also exist to make contributions to the delivery of our post-qualifying courses at postgraduate level. The University's commitment to Widening Participation is strong, with Social Work courses in particular attracting a significant number of students from minority ethnic groups. The most recent employability data (DLHE 2017) also shows 100% of our graduates in employment or further study six months after graduating.
An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.
Interviews will be held on 29 January 2018
